Visualization: The Truths and the myths
Visualization: The Truths and the mythsWhat's the truth about visualization?
More Information
Much have been wrtitten about visiualization over many centuries. From designing your perfect future to curing diseaes. It goes someting like this: 'Make pictures in your mind of what you want and keep seeing it and BAM *****; there you have it.
Over the years I had numerous clients asking me what they have done 'wrong' because they have visualized perfectly what they wanted and still got the opposite of what they wanted or just nothing at all.

My own humble thoughts about this is that sometimes visualisation is just 'making pictures' without any power. The power part is what I have learned in NLP is the quality and the 'feeling' of the pictures. It's like an architect designing the most beautiful house on a computer, everyone oooh and ahhhh but it never gets built. It never really 'forms' or materialise.

NLP has a variety of techniques using visualisation. The crucial thing is this: It's one thing to see the pictures but the next step is to feel the 'truth' of the pictures inside the body. This means a physical sensation in the heart or stomach or any other place in the body. And not just any senstation; a sensation for 'Yes, it's true'.  Using NLP ideomotor sigals or  Kinesiology (muscle testing) is a good way to do this.

The second important thing is that if the body in any way gives a 'no' signal then it means there is deeper unconscious beliefs which oppose the the new visualisation. This means you can makes all day long of let's say a healed body but if you have some unconscious imprinted belief of 'It's my fault and there is something wrong with me' then it will be just pretty pictures. The deeper unconscious beliefs have to be dealt with first and re-programmed.
