More Information
During a recent NLP Hypnosis Training in Cape Town I was totally bowled over during breakfast as I again realised the power of NLP. I was waiting for my eggs to be done - sunny side up - and smiled at the lady on the other side of the counter while she fried up my fare. Because I was already a bit late for the course and was in quite a rush I was staring at the hot plate hoping it would fry the eggs faster. “Life is such a rush”, I said to her. What happened then, came to me as such a surprise that I still almost cannot believe it.
She looked at me expectantly and said: “How are you living that makes you experience life like a rush? And before I could answer she went on. “And at a deeper level your unconscious mind may already be searching for resources and solutions to help you CHANGE THIS way of living. That’s right”, she said........“and as you start coming up with new solutions, here are your eggs; enjoy your breakfast.”!
I went and sat down in a haze, completely stunned. Here was a lady preparing breakfast and who has just done a magnificent meta-model reframe on me. For those of you who need a refreshener. The word ‘Life’ is a Nominalisation. In the Meta-model it falls under the category Distortions and by bringing it back from anoun to a verb, Life – living, it brings flow back into the process. Suddenly I had to look at my way of living and making me again responsible for my way of living my life. All coaching is about bringing the client back to take responsibility for their lives. In the split second while she asked me that question one word came up for me: Time Management and I remember a chapter about this in Stephen Covey’s book: ‘The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People’, where he specifically deals with time management.
It took me a while to process what had happened. After finishing my breakfast and almost forgetting about the Hypnosis course I still had to attend, I went up to her and ask: Where did you learn to use these language patterns?” She smiled thoughtfully and said: “I love NLP and did a course many years ago. Since then I have always practised it and as I am enjoying my work I decided to just make it part of my daily living and help people whenever I can.” “Thanks so much”, I said as I felt a lump rising in my throat. I suddenly also remembered a quote I try to live by: “Everyone and everything around me is in some way my Master.”
I am sharing this experience with you, dear Practitioner to help you realise that NLP can be used anytime and anywhere. We don’t necessarily need an office and all of that. There is such a big need in the world for healing and so many people out there cannot afford a coach or psychologist. One good question at the right time can bring about change.  It can become a way of living and help changing the world: One meta-model question at a time!
The next NLP Coaching Practitioner course is from  6-13 November 2011. For those of you who still need some practical hours for certification, you are welcome to use this opportunity to come and assist on the course. And if you know of anyone who might benefit from this Training please forward this e-mail for me. It will be very greatly appreciated.
And in the meantime, enjoy what is out there, and also what is within......
Till next time
